How do you make a fan page on Facebook? Every new user of facebook who is little aware of the power of facebook and wants to benefit from it, must know the answer of this question. Creating a fan page is not a too technical topic but it is very simple. Follow some simple steps explained below to understand the creation of a fan page in this huge social network.

Visit the link Facebook.com/pages/create.php to create a fan page.
You can select the page you want to create. You have the two options. You can create either a community page or an official page. If you are creating an official page then you can select one from organization, local business, product, brand etc. After you have selected the page, you will require selecting the category for your page. If your preferred category is there in the drop down then select it and if it is not then select the closest match of your preferred category, for example, if your preferred category is mobile and it is not there then you can also select
Communication.

After the category is selected, give a name to your fan page. The name you choose could be your business name, product name or the keyword that people type to search your business, product or service.

You can create the fan page for a business only if you are the official representative of it. You must also check the checkbox to confirm that you are the official representative of this page. Finishing these steps will setup your facebook fan page and after this you can configure and personalize your fan page.

To personalize your fan page, you can add a picture. This picture may show you with your team members or may show your logo. The quality of the picture is important because good quality pictures will attract fans to your page and low quality pictures will not attract potential fans.

Display some information about you and your business to let your fans know who you are and what business you do.

To personalize more, you can make and add photo album. By clicking on “Edit” under “settings”, you can also restrict the countries where your fan page will be displayed and restrict the age group so people falling in the age group can only view your fan page.

To make your page active, you can start discussion on any topic. The topic of discussion could be anything but prefer to select the topic that is of interest to most people and most people would like to say something or share their opinions in your discussion.

Now your fan page is ready to so click to launch it. Update your status by writing something good on your wall. To start bringing users to your fan page, click the button “Suggest to Friends”. You can send a message to some or all your friends.
